This is my portrait of the wonderful Lana Del Rey. Part of a session for Q Magazine. I probably had about 10 minutes with her as scheduling on the day was mental but we got some good stuff nonetheless…
Here are some of my portraits of the Manic Street Preachers as featured in their latest album ‘National Treasures’. I photographed them at the bands studio in Cardiff. I’ve loved the Manics since I got their ‘Stay Beautiful’ CD single back in 1991 so it was a real honour to have my work included in their CD artwork 20(!) years later. I’d wanted to work with this band for a long time. A couple of these images are reproduced more faithfully on my website.
Another portrait I’m rather happy with is this one of Paul Weller that I took back in the summer at his recording studio. A very funny guy I thought and generous with his sandwiches too. This one features in the 25th Anniversary issue of Q Magazine if you want to see it in all it’s glory.
Photographed the impossibly awesome Warpaint for Q a while back. Have you listened to them? If not check out their album ‘The Fool’.
I’ve recently been working with (Emma) Emmy The Great and Tim Wheeler (Ash) on the photography and artwork to their Christmas album ‘This Is Christmas’. There are some genius songs on this album so why not check out their FB page http://www.facebook.com/emmyandtim or website http://www.thisischristmasalbum.com/ and buy a copy on the 21st November and get yo elves into the Christmas spirit.
The posters I designed for Emmy The Great arrived today. They came out great. Why would you ever print a poster on anything other than matte paper eh? Lovely job.
